New Glove box Installation

Recommended Posts

I'm interested in buying a new glove box. My interior looks so good now, that I would hate to open the glove box and have someone see that torn up mess. Can they be installed without disassembling a bunch of dash components? It woul be very cool if it just slides in from the front.

Can someone give me the steps invovled?

If I remember right, it should slide in from the front fairly easily. You will need to remove the glove box door by removing the screws on the hinge plate and then take the insert out of the side where the door stop arm is. Then you need to remove the screws holding the latch plate and after that it is just a matter of wiggling the liner out. Been a long time since I removed one so if there is anything else it should be fairly obvious....

The 240 glove box liner was made of fiber board(paper). You must fold and crush to get them in.I have a friend that put a 80's maxima(plastic)liner in his 240.They were made to fold.If you didn't know(odds are most don't) It looks nice and gives you the workability of future in and out . Have fun!! Daniel
