So far, I have found the following problems caused by the previous owner of this 280Z:

- completely wrong timing

- AFM ground wire left disconnected

- AFM mounting plate left unattached

- wires from battery to coil not tightened on coil

- all clamps on brake boost hoses left untightened

I'm sure I'll be adding to this list.

That all doesn't sound so bad so far. Wait until you find the wrong size screw stuffed/stripped into holes in the engine block, sloppy bondo jobs, paint over rust, glue to fill in cracked or torn weather stripping, missing or mismatched parts, or a crappy exhaust job that's going to cost a lot to replace, AND bad timing on top of all that. Count your blessings! How's the rust?

Yea welcome to the PO mistake fixing club. My Z has paint over rust, radio wiring that isn't attached to anything, missing speakers, no heater, timing was off, AFM was set so rich the car barely idled the list goes on and on. Its a matter of finding and fixing said mistakes.

It really sucks (like in my case) when then there is NO PO. I pity you guys that have to deal with one or more PO's that think they are mechanics.:stupid: OTH, you do have someone else to cuss out!LOL
