Posted March 25, 201015 yr comment_313603 Can somebody enlighten me on a couple of things regarding the front bumper of Series 1 Z Cars. I bought the front bumper override bar off e-bay, but it is several inches too short. 1) Is the placement of the "Bumperettes" different in cars from 1969-1971 versus 1972-1973? 2) What is the distance between the "Bumperettes" from the inside of one to the inside of the other in '69-'71 cars? same for '72-'73? Thanks! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35181-front-bumper-enlighten-me/ Share on other sites
March 25, 201015 yr comment_313612 In the USA, '69-72 are all the same, but '73 is different, having the bumperettes spaced closer together. Sounds like the bar you got is for a '73. March 25, 201015 yr Author comment_313614 That's what I was afraid of. I have a '73 parts car in storage that I will unwrap this weekend and measure up.Know anybody that needs a front override bar for a '73? :-) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35181-front-bumper-enlighten-me/#findComment-313614 Share on other sites
March 25, 201015 yr comment_313644 Here is a side by side comparison of the bumpers, 69 & 73. Note the difference in width of the two bumperettes besides the narrower placement on the 73.
