Can you tell me if the dist.vac on the charcoal canister goes the a T that goes to the distributor and a port under the airflow meter and if the purge line on the charcoal canister goes to the port on the top side of the intake manifold? Does the vac. line on the heat and a/c cause the engine to run poorly if not correctly connected?

Following pictures might help you out some...I also have a 75 280Z...just do one line at a time...take your time...do it right the first time...you can also make note of length/size of each line...and make you up a spare set of lines...or have a ready reference in case you need to replace one down the road...
