I think there are at least three different ones. I have my original pedestal, one that was sold to me on another board as a ZX pedestal but wasn't, and the zx pedestal that I subsequently bought.

I have a '79 dizzy and the pedestal that works for me is from an '80 model. Make sure you get the plate also.

Chris,

This link helped me in my ZX dizzy swap. He shows a 77 base and a ZX base for comparison.

I didn't get the base with mine so I modified the advance marker plate that bolts to the bottom of the distributor. I had to slot the holes and index the plug wires by one post to get the proper advance range. It wasn't too tough but I would have used a base if one was available

Andy, i know of that site and that was one of the things that made me believe i got the wrong base, but what about front cover, i have no idea of what kind i have, do different covers demands different bases ?

It's the one at the left i got.

Andy, i will not do anything to my advance plate, this is a brand new dizzy i got hold on and if i tell you the price, you will kick my nut's, so let's just say i got one he.. of a deal.

Mike, that one looks all wrong, do you know where it coms from ?

I have started to search after a dizzy base on other forums and if anyone here have one let me know.

Maybe one day, i will start up my lathe and mill to fabricate a billet aluminium base where #1 is where #1 should be.

I didn't use the ZX plate because there was no way to slot the holes to fit the base and be bolted to the bottom of the distributor. I took the plate off my points dizzy and slotted those holes.

I can understand if you don't want to get into that.

I also know when we really need something, we'll pay whatever we are comfortable with to get what we want (especially if we know we won't have another opportunity).
