Posted April 1, 201015 yr comment_314503 Hi? my 280z is driving me crazy. some please help. these are my problems:1. when i got the car, i change the feul pump and the feul pump works. it turns on and push gas to the injectors but the car wount start. the car cranks but dont start. i put gas directly into the intake and the car start. So i went ahead and replace the injectors and the injectors plugs. in other for i to do this change, i took out the intake manifold and exhaust. cleaning it up and change gasket and put on the new injectors and new injectors plugs. After install everything with the hope that the car will start. i went and turn it on and it doesn't start. i check the feul pump and it not turning on. i check the the injectors plugs with electric tester and there is no power. i went on and check the feul pump to see if there is any power goint to the pump when the car is on and there is no power. i went in and check the relay underneath the steering wheel, i believe it the ignition and feul pump relay. when i turn the car on i heard one click from the relay and when i turn the car off and i heard one click from the relay. this is my problem please help me diagnose this problem and i also want to know what further testing or how to test the injectors plug to see if there is power .2 another problem i realized is the car doesn't turn on if the wiper control switch which is on or by the headlight control switch is not turn on. when it on the car turns on and when it off the car does not turn on. pls help. thanks3. No interior power. that include, heater system, radio, etc. i check the fuse box and i have power on some of the fuses and no power on the other fuses. the headlight turns on fine and the hazard light works fine but when i use the signal it doesnt work. thanks for all inputs. April 1, 201015 yr comment_314536 Download the excellent 280-Z EFI troubleshooting guide: http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/efisystem/280zfuelinjectionbook.pdf Have a look at page 23-26 for a documentation of the two power relays, then apply the tests listed at 6( on page 33. The tests for the injectors power supply are on page 63-68. April 1, 201015 yr comment_314542 It sounds like you may have a bad AFM, that is what turns the fuel pump on when the key is on the "on" position. Generally the fuel pumps are pretty loud and you can hear it when it turns on. Your AFM could just need adjusting or it could need replacing. I'd wait for more people to chime in though before you go and spend more money.Where are you located in Washington? April 1, 201015 yr comment_314549 rzkas posted that he has no power at the injectors, that would be controlled by the power relay. So the problem might be before the AFM switching the fuel pump via the fuel relay. Checking the AFM is a good idea in any case. April 2, 201015 yr comment_314666 Thats the one, the AFM sits inbetween the air cleaner and the the intake manifold. (See image). When you switch on the ignition, can you measure a voltage at one of the two pins of an injector and ground? If so, then the AFM is most probably the issue, as Tyler posted. If you cannot measure a voltage, then you should check the relays next as described in the fuel injection troubleshooting guide. April 2, 201015 yr Author comment_314672 ok there is no voltage or power . no power to the injectors plug in and no power to the feul pump. this feul pump was turning on before i took out the intake manifold and exhaust manifold. i put everything back after changing the injectors and adapter and gasket. why is it that, the car doesnt turn on unless i switch the wiper control switch on. if the wiper control switch is not on, i cant turn the car on and nothing happen but when the wiper switch is on the car turn on. April 7, 201015 yr comment_315234 I need help fixing this car and figuring out what going on. pls help. where are the resistor for each injector. picture of injectors resistor location plsThe injector resistors are documented on page 6 of the 280-Z EFI troubleshooting guide. I highly recommend that you spend some time with this document as it thoroughly explains the EFI setup and troubleshooting procedures. The resistors rarely break though, i would start with the relay diagnosis on page 63-68.
