Posted April 2, 201014 yr comment_314683 Last Sunday i was at my moms signing the papers over on my dads '77 Z, she sold it to me for $1.00. I had no idea what the mileage was to write on the title, the odometer has 18500 and she had no idea how many times it has rolled over. I had heard some story's from my dad but could not remember what the numbers were. I found some old invoices for repairs he had done back in '07 and he had wrote down 410700 miles  Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35307-big-shock/ Share on other sites
April 2, 201014 yr comment_314684 Holy macaroni! Thats a lot of miles. It looks like its in great shape too. If it is truly that high, your dad has taken good care of the car.carl Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35307-big-shock/#findComment-314684 Share on other sites
April 2, 201014 yr comment_314708 That's in the vicinity of the mileage that my old 64 L320 Pickup had. Near as we could determine from what records I could find and discussions with a couple of previous owners, we determined that the truck had over 500,000 and it actually could have been 600,000mi.! April 2, 201014 yr comment_314712 Does Alabama require an accurate mileage statement on 30+ year old cars? When I registered my Z here in Indiana they just entered "exempt" at the license branch. April 2, 201014 yr comment_314714 Here they just mark 'mileage exceeds odomoter limits' or something to that effect. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35307-big-shock/#findComment-314714 Share on other sites
April 2, 201014 yr comment_314717 Oregon doesn't keep track past 10 or 12 years old. Which means that ALL of my vehicles are now mileage exempt. Ironically, the Z is the lowest miles car I own, by 30k+. Not counting the motorcycle, of course. April 3, 201014 yr Author comment_314744 When i went to register the car they told me the same thing as Walter Moore stated. Just thought it was a lot of miles. This is a great add for Amsoil, my dad used it in the car since he purchased it back in 1978 with 24k miles on the odometer.
