Need a smaller Z....

You mean die cast models of them?

Kyosho makes the best 1:18 models in my opinion. My red 240Z I bought a while ago is absolutely perfect (almost... some details are missing).

HOWEVER, I just bought a white Kyosho ZG today and when I got it home was unimpressed with the build quality. The fuel tank was broken, the door shut line was a bit wobbly and one of the wheels was bent out of whack. Luckily the hobby shop I bought it from graciously offered to replace it when I rang up. Hopefully the replacement will be a maroon one like Alan's :D :D :D

But yes, if you want a 1:18 scale model I would suggest you buy that. Over in Australia they are about $100 ($50 USD) but well worth the money. IF YOU GET A GOOD ONE that is!

Check out Ebay, there are always Z models of different sorts available. Unfortunately they aren't always done to spec (IE different mirrors) but they are always there. I bought 2 really cool matchbox 240Zs (right hand drive) from a guy in Japan, one is the police car and the other metallic blue. I also bought 2 Revell models that they are now selling in the store. I'm glad I bought 2 because they come only in white and I SUCK at painting so I'm practicing on one.

If you get one, give us a report on the quality and let us know how close to spec they are.

I have 2 of the 1:43 scale Kyosho 240Z's and they are nice. I have seen the larger (1:18th??) scale ones and they are nice too . I've also got a Sun Star 240. I don't think it is quite as nice as the Kyosho's but it's pretty close and a bit less expensive. The Franklin Mint 240 is the best I've see but it's priced accordingly and not easy to get.

Do a web search for the brand names or maybe check out

www.diecastx.com. They deal with diecast and plastic models.

Thanks all, I'll check them out, I'll have to get one for me and one for my son, that way maybe I'll be able to keep mine, i doubt it tho, I can't even keep him out of the real one!

6 years old and already has the diZeaZe... LOL

Gotta be proud.

Have a great Sunday all!!

if you are into the plastic kits revell-monogram just re-released their kits in 1/25th scale. I own two of those as well as the 1/18 kyosho, franklin mint, and sun star die-cast. and a smaller 1/32nd kyosho. The sunstar was about 35.00, the franklin mint was over a hundred, and both kyoshos's ran for about 60.00 a piece.

The plastic kits were only 12 dollars a piece.

MSA sells 1/18 die cast also and right around 59.95.

I received the Franklin Mint from my wife as a wedding gift...truth is she thought it would curve my appetite to get a 240, but it's just made it worse!

Back to the point... The Franklin Mint is AWESOME. Right down to the shock on the rear hatch. Hand assembled from over 150 pieces and Orange to boot!

I also have a plastic 1/25 scale model of John Mortons #46 BRE 240Z. Kit was made by Revell and mine is a 1996 reproduction.

Also have two diecast 1/64 scale Johnny Lightning 280zx turbos.

Also have a plastic 1/24 scale Fairlady 300zx twin turbo from Tamiya, very good kit!

Also have 2 1/25 scale 510's from Revell, 2002 reproductions.

On the wish list are:

The latest Revell reproduction of the 240

The Lil' Hustler (datsun 620 pick-up) model that was made by Revell I believe.

...and...

a 1/1 scale 70-73 240Z:bunny:

Just a Z carguy,

in my gallery you can see in 1:18 the black Z from Sun Star, an orange Sun Star Z that is supered by Bburago's Jag E-Type rims and that got the side window frames painted in black (because the Sun Star's window proportions are IMO too small) and a Kyosho. This is the better 1:18, but more expensive. I personally love my orange one.
