April 19, 201014 yr comment_316353 My car is carb'ed but the diag process is pretty universal. You are certain your alternator is defective? ie, it was tested on a machine. Do you still have an external regulator? Was that replaced at the same time? Have you verified all of your connections? Is your battery fully charged? Are all the fused links and fuses good? I guess the next question, overly simplified, is what has power and what doesn't have power with the key on? If I recall, your fuel pump runs when key is to start. When it's key on, it needs the oil pressure signal and alternator signal for the fuel pump to run. Again, verify connections are correct and secure. If your first diagnosis was correct, I would start here Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35478-recomendation-on-tire-size-for-my-new-xxrs/?&page=2#findComment-316353 Share on other sites
April 28, 201014 yr comment_317471 I have XXR's 16x8 and i have 225/45/16 and they fit perfect IMO. I have also lowered the car from "quite a bit" to just an inch. If you are going with Eibach or Tokico springs, nothing will rub. But if you go any lower, you will have to roll your rear fender. its simple to do really. Here is a link to pics of my car with Tokico springs (approx 1" drop)http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38202 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35478-recomendation-on-tire-size-for-my-new-xxrs/?&page=2#findComment-317471 Share on other sites
April 28, 201014 yr comment_317487 225/50-15. Fit well, ride is stiff, steering is heavy at parking lot speeds. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35478-recomendation-on-tire-size-for-my-new-xxrs/?&page=2#findComment-317487 Share on other sites
April 28, 201014 yr comment_317526 studioti, Nice car. 225/45 is great but i think I'm going with 225/50/16. Now, like what Gary in NJ say that the steering will be heavy. the stock 195/70/14 that I have is already hard to turn. i need power steering. hehe..
