April 19, 201014 yr comment_316425 I don't really think of myself as a "purist", but I'm sure that others think of me that way. And while I have no personal desire to have a V8-powered Z, if you do, go for it!But I will say that as an admin/moderator, I don't much care for the confrontational, in-your-face attitude of the original post. I used to have a 3.0L stroker motor and used to frequent this board back then. The Z has been in storage for the past 2 years, waiting for the owner (me) to figure out what the heck i'm going to do with it. Did it suffer a blowout or something, leading to the 2 year storage? April 19, 201014 yr Author comment_316443 What became of the old motor? Did it suffer a blowout or something, leading to the 2 year storage? Sold it to a local guy. tossed around the idea of getting an L6 turbo motor, then went through a divorce. Car stuff had to be put on hold for awhile. April 19, 201014 yr comment_316447 was not meant to be "in your face".Fair enough. I'm familiar enough with how a totally innocent comment sometimes may come across wrong in a plain text communication like this, so I generally give the benefit of doubt to the poster anyway. What drivetrain are you going to back that motor up with? April 20, 201014 yr comment_316461 If you haven't already, make certain you stiffen the chassis or that extra HP & torque will twist the chassis. What kind of power do you expect from that engine? Should be a real go'er! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35532-to-the-240z-purists-out-there/#findComment-316461 Share on other sites
April 20, 201014 yr comment_316468 haha. Ever get over to Motorsports Ranch in Houston? Is that the same thing as MSR?If so, I drove that track last year. Had an opportunity to test drive some prototype S4s, S5s, and M3s. I like that track, expecially the banked corner leading up to the turn before the right-hander to the long straight. What color is your Z? I'm partial to blues and that looks great.
