April 20, 201015 yr Author comment_316529 yeah thanks for all the opinions guys...I am looking for a 240 I can reliably drive now (just to have fun with for a bit), but will then shortly commit it for autocross, track days, etc Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35542-overpriced-your-opinion/?&page=2#findComment-316529 Share on other sites
April 20, 201015 yr comment_316530 This one's gonna cost you more, but I think it would be a better car for you in the long run.http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/cto/1687277248.html Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35542-overpriced-your-opinion/?&page=2#findComment-316530 Share on other sites
April 20, 201015 yr Author comment_316532 yeah, that's a bit more than I am willing to spend. I am not looking for something that will be necessarily "all original". I am looking for something I can drive now, track later so originality isnt of the utmost importance. Thanks for the link...looks like a really nice car Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35542-overpriced-your-opinion/?&page=2#findComment-316532 Share on other sites

April 20, 201015 yr comment_316535 a 240z with a L28 is a plusI think so, too. I like mine, L28 running 3-screw SU carbs. Runs rich right now so once the brake work is done I'll meet up with a fellow forum member to tweek the carb tuning, but otherwise it's great fun to drive.Oh, and I talked to the owner of that red car up in Whittier. He sent me a ton of pictures while I was shopping around, very honest. The car wasn't running back when I was looking, so he's definitely made progress. The original color was light green, it's been repainted. He's worth talking to, he seemed like a straight shooter. April 20, 201015 yr comment_316536 a ways a way...might a be a better pickup http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/1692223132.htmlIf it's not rusty, this one is a far better buy. Might have farther to go to get it auto-x ready, but a much better starting point, in my opinion. '73s are better daily drivers, too. April 20, 201015 yr comment_316539 This one might be more legit to you guys:http://tucson.craigslist.org/cto/1695856995.htmlI don't like automatics - at all. The owner doesn't even know what engine it has (V6, oh really?). Is that a fuzzy cover on the dash? I wonder what lays below that cover? Velor seats? I'm sure the rims looked better on the car they originally came from. So far, the Whittier car is the most attractive. April 20, 201015 yr Author comment_316540 yeah, I am def a fan of the manual, but I figured the swap wouldnt be too difficult, yeah I noticed the guy mentioned "v6"...pretty easy to see in your own picture its not even if u didnt know anything about the Z's Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35542-overpriced-your-opinion/?&page=2#findComment-316540 Share on other sites
April 20, 201015 yr comment_316542 ...snip...So far, the Whittier car is the most attractive. I'm not so sure about that. Paints peeling off in door jam, what looks like bondo on the rear wheel lip....who knows what else is lurking. At least the first car he was looking at had the L28 he wants, plus the paint is still sticking to it!
