April 13, 20177 yr comment_517957 I just finished reproducing a '71 emissions decal for my car. It has the part number on the lower left corner and was done on gold vinyl decal material. I would be willing to see if I could have this decal reproduced, but won't be able to do any thing for a few week as I just fractured my pelvis in three places. Here is a picture of this decal on my car. April 14, 20177 yr comment_517968 Thanks! Took a header down my favorite hiking trail by catching my toe on a boulder and landing hard, and 2 feet down, on my right knee. That jammed right femur into pelvis causing multiple fractures. " Ouch" doesn't begin to describe the pain. April 14, 20177 yr Author comment_518036 I measured the decal on my HLS30-00032 car this morning and it's 3 9/16" wide by 2 3/4" tall. I'll check the ones I removed from other cars tonight or tomorrow.Sent from my SM-G935P using Classic Zcar Club mobile Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35554-1969-1970-emissions-decal/?&page=2#findComment-518036 Share on other sites
April 14, 20177 yr comment_518043 That's great. It's smaller than I thought. Better measure twice and cut once. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35554-1969-1970-emissions-decal/?&page=2#findComment-518043 Share on other sites
April 14, 20177 yr comment_518066 On 4/20/2010 at 6:27 PM, Mike B said: 1969 production cars for the US market have a different emissions decal mounted to the underside of the hood than later 1970 model year cars. I'm not sure if Canada or other markets have the same decal as well. I recently found that HLS30-01590 (a 1/70 production car) has this same emission decal. I didn't think a car with that high of a VIN would still have this sticker (it also has the earliest hood design). Does anyone with a higher VIN ahave this early decal? I don't think anyone has reproduced this, due to the limited market for them. I am trying to get an idea of the size of the market to see if it would be worth while to have some reproductions made. I checked with Banzai Motorsports and they don't have any. They sell a different emissions sticker (DE07) that I believe is for later 1970 production cars, but I am not sure what the cutoff is. Also, if anyone knows of a good source to reproduce these metallic decals let me know. Thanks. -Mike Mike, I could give this a try, but would need a few things. 1. A high resolution picture taken as directly head on as possible to reduce distortion. 2. The best discription possible of the silver color and gloss level as this is the most difficult part of reproducing these decals for greatest authenticity. Even mailing samples back and forth may be worth the effort. let me know.
