Posted April 24, 201014 yr comment_317053 I have been trying to remove the steering wheel from my 1972 240, so that I can refurbish it. Its got me beat.It won't move. Iv'e tried tapping it from the back while pulling it, but don't want to damage it.An old Corrolla I once owned had threaded holes so you could attach a puller but this has nothing. Any ideas anyone.?? Edited April 24, 201014 yr by olzed Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35620-240z-steering-wheel-removal/ Share on other sites
April 24, 201014 yr comment_317055 Yank hard on it, pull side to side. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35620-240z-steering-wheel-removal/#findComment-317055 Share on other sites
April 24, 201014 yr comment_317058 Remove the nut, then re-thread it just about one turn or so. Then as mentioned yank hard. If you don't leave the nut on, be prepared to bonk yourself with it.You COULD use the steering wheel puller, but the push on the right while pulling on the left and alternating (within reason, you're not trying to bend the shaft) will do it.2¢E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35620-240z-steering-wheel-removal/#findComment-317058 Share on other sites
