April 30, 201014 yr comment_317704 I read somewhere that a cheap pump sprayer from Home Depot will do the job if you can get the wand in the cavity. POR has a very low viscosity so it flows right out of the nozzle. I would adjust the nozzle so it is spraying in a cone shape, insert as far as you can, squeeze the trigger and slowly remove the wand. Repeat as necessary.Don't forget to use Ospho or Metal Ready first. Definately helps with adhesion and wipe up any drips that find their way out immediately and often or you will be grinding. If you haven't purchased it yet find a body shop supply company in your area. It will save you about 20 bucks in shipping costs.Great stuff by the way.John Edited April 30, 201014 yr by JohnnyO Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35701-por-15-application-in-framerails/#findComment-317704 Share on other sites
April 30, 201014 yr Author comment_317718 Thanks for the suggestions guys. Johnny'O, I'll have to give the pump sprayer a try. I didn't realize the POR15 was thin enough to be able to spray like that. April 30, 201014 yr comment_317721 If you have a air compressor and a Harbor Freight in the area buy a siphon gun I bought mine for about $8.00 I used a length of vinyl hose that I just stuck in the can of POR and the ''gun'' blew the paint all through the rockers and in any cavity . Because there is no cup with paint you can turn the gun side wise or upside down if needed. I attached a lead weight to the hose to keep it from falling out of the can. When done just flush out with lacquer thinner to clean the gun. May 9, 201014 yr comment_319008 If there's already rust inside the framerails, all you're doing is making yourself feel better by spraying POR15 (or any other rust "preventative") inside. You have to physically remove the rust and then apply a rust preventative. I sprayed it with por15 back then. It still solid and has not shown any signs of further rust damage. Now there was no holes just surface rust mind you.
