Remote starter hookup

This should have been one of the first things i did, adjust the valve timing !. The engine ran ok with a few minor fixes, so i decided the suspension was tops on my list to get in order. I had found an earlier post by one member on the adjustment of the valve, pictures and all. He listed all the tools needed, including a remote starter and how to hook it up. This may me simple to some but for me i would rather do it correct instead of damaging my old car or my self. Can someone help me with this ? What needs to be dis-connected and where do you hook the wires to ? PS i have been using the search engine for the last hour and have not found anything !

Why a remote starter??

Instead of people seeing an empty car starting by itself, I'd rather have people see me in the car smiling as it turns over with a little soot out the tailpipe, maybe.

apparently you haven't ever adjusted your valves. The remote starter is a major improvement when doing the valves.

I'm with Sblake. You are looking for a hand held trigger that jumps the starter excite wire (spade on solenoid) with the primary wire to bump the engine over without using the key. ( a rich man's screwdriver--those who know, know) They are 8-9 bucks at any parts house and come with aligator clips on the wires. Takes all of 8 seconds to hook up. Be sure to leave the key off or the car may surprise the hell out of you and start. Pulling the coil wire is a good idea.
