Posted May 13, 201014 yr comment_319463 I found these interesting (Series I 240). Are they a standard Series I piece as opposed to the rectangular ones found on all other S30 cars? May 14, 201014 yr Author comment_319620 So a Series I only part I assume. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35880-diff-carrier-legs/#findComment-319620 Share on other sites
May 14, 201014 yr comment_319673 Well well another Series I uniqueness. Could be a race part, significant weight savings there. Of far more interest is the what appears to be a strip of door welting on the lip of the rear control arm link. Was that a Series I only item as well? I'm having trouble imagining the purpose. Was it something you installed Gnose? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/35880-diff-carrier-legs/#findComment-319673 Share on other sites
May 14, 201014 yr comment_319678 I know that one of my cars had those more shapely supports, but I checked and the ones on the red car are straight. So the ones as pictured must have been on my yellow car, which was Series 1 (10/70). May 15, 201014 yr Author comment_319792 Those legs were on a club members Series I car but I have found the welting on the later curved rear control arm link. You all did notice that this Series I car has a curved link arm? May 17, 201014 yr comment_320000 Yep, that was the first think that jumped out at me. Are you sure that this a "Series 1" ? Didn't they all have the diffs mounted in the flawed location? May 17, 201014 yr Author comment_320021 The photos weren't taken to show the diff which is an R190 and the car now has a 5-spd hence the curved cross member. It is a Series I (hatch, C pillar w/o air intake, metal emblem, steering wheel, oh, and the VIN number).
