Thanks Ivan,

One of the best I've seen - did GTOs really have those odd three dashboard airvents ? And it's a shame they've gone the sure way to get the HP by slipping a (nicely done) V8 in.

Even if it was the same price as a Zed, I still wouldn't swap it - it's still a wanabee and I prefer to be!

The GTO's had lots of HP and some of the worst brakes I have ever seen. If anyone here ever decides to get one, spend the cash to upgrade to big disk brakes and upgrade the suspension. I've driven buses that handled better!

As for the mighty Delorean, they are fun cars to drive and I think the only weak spot was the PRV V6. The trans came out of the Renault Fuego but worked very well. They flipped the crown gear on the gear box so it could be mounted backwards in a Lotus Esprit style frame. On top of the frame went a fiberglass body tub and on to that, they hung the stainless steel body panels. The car was not overweight. If you ever get the chance to drive one, take it!

I was at the gym the other day, and on 1 of the TVs they had an old episode of Knight Rider on. First scene of the show some guy driving a 280 was pushed off the side of a cliff ! Later on in the same episode there was an "action" scene filmed on the top level of a parking garage. There was a 280 ZX there as one of the 3 cars in the scene.

I also find myself looking for Zs when old reruns of CHiPs is on !
