Posted May 31, 201014 yr comment_321113 I have a new temp-sensor to install. I have the housing, threaded retainer and, of course, the water temp sensor. I even have a new cap and thermostat (might as well replace 'em while I have it apart) and all new gaskets. I know to use pipe tape on the retainer, but do I need any sealant between the retainer and the sensor? May 31, 201014 yr comment_321118 I've never used pipe tape nor sealant on them. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36039-installing-water-temperature-sensor/#findComment-321118 Share on other sites
May 31, 201014 yr comment_321123 Pipe tape can tend to insulate the sensor from grounding properly, causing gauge inaccuracy. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36039-installing-water-temperature-sensor/#findComment-321123 Share on other sites

May 31, 201014 yr comment_321149 i put a dab of antiseize on the threads, but not too heavy for grounding reasons. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36039-installing-water-temperature-sensor/#findComment-321149 Share on other sites
