Problems with parts vendors

Hi everyone,

As you all may have guessed from my earlier posting, I just got back my 240z from the body shop. I have been ordering parts like crazy and have had some real issues with some of the vendors. I bought a set of stainless steel brake lines off of ebay from New Old Stock Motorsports in Arizona on 5/9 and have not heard anything from them. I paid promptly and have no idea what the deal is. I have tried contacting them via ebay with no reply. I have sent emails that get bounced back. I have tried calling a number I found on google but that wouldn't go through for some reason. They continue to post auctions on ebay so they haven't dissappeared. Finally today I resorted to using Paypal to file a claim to try and get some kind of response out of them. I have had similar problems with Too Intense Restoration. I ordered some interior parts and was sent the wrong color. Unfortunately, I have never been able to contact them about my initial order (it just showed up on my doorstep one day) and now I can't get a hold of them about the wrong order. I have emailed, tried calling on numerous occasions and even faxed. I don't want to just send it back with a note because the receipt clearly has my message about needing a specific color. My concern is, do I just sell the wrong parts on ebay to recoup some of my money and order from another supplier? It has been a very frustrating day. I appreciate the chance to vent and if anyone has any suggestions, I would be glad to get it. Thanks.

He's been on my 'do not buy from' list for years. Anyone with a feedback % under 99.3 I just won't buy anything from. Not for the Datsun hobby or anythingelse. If you want to see the details of an eBay sellers negative and neutral feedback just plug their name in at:

Here's the results for the guy you posted:

I bought some shifter bushings from nosms. No problem. I guess I got lucky.

There is a guy here in Houston that sells a lot of Z parts. I absolutely will not buy from him. He sells Nissan parts that are available from Nissan at a fraction of what he charges. And he will rape you on shipping.

I have purchased a few items from z-connection and when you combine purchases and get it all shipped together the shipping is reasonable.

I only purchase "Nissan Available" parts from ebay when I need odd ball stuff and don't want to search for part numbers and deal with Courtesyparts.com. Just saves me time and time = money.

There are 2 Nissan dealers in my area and they either don't want to deal with me (even with part numbers) or price themselves 40-60% higher than ebay and courtesy.

I called for parts last Friday and the guy told me "There's a place in Texas called Courtesy Nissan, you should call them." I laughed and said "Yeah, I know. Thought I would try to keep it local."

Good luck Carl. If anything, your experience will cause a sudden decrease in sales for these vendors. I am at the same point as you and have been compiling a list of items to purchase during the next month at specific times so I don't have to lay out 2 grand all at once and don't end up sitting on parts while I do other work.

I was actually looking at parts from Too Intense and until I hear your outcome I will not be placing my order.

Good luck.

John

Interestingly, the ebay vendor in question states this on his listing.....

"Check out Our 100% positive feedback we work hard to make sure your purchase is perfect"

He should probably update his ad copy.

I've emailed Too Intense again just to see if they respond in the next few days. The problem with them is that I REALLY want to order from them. The guy on ebay, I've given up on and written it up to a lesson learned. Hopefully, Paypal will deal with the situation now and refund my money.
