Posted June 7, 201014 yr comment_321827 I'm new here ^.^ I just recently got back from deployment and now that I'm goin to shore duty I've decided to get started on my first real project car. I've worked on cars plenty before, but never really got into a full build, so I'm looking forward to it. I was gonna get a 350Z (and I still might eventually) but besides that, none of the newer cars really excite me. When I saw a 1982 280Z, I had to have that car. Too bad it wasn't for sale.. Anyways, when I get to Florida and get settled down in a couple weeks, I'll be looking for a 280Z. I'm sure I'll be going through these forums quite a bit in the near future. So far I'm just looking for a service manual, and just going through the forums. Good to meet you all Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36105-hey-guys/ Share on other sites
June 7, 201014 yr comment_321828 Welcome to the forum Rejor11!I am not sure if it was a typo or not but the 1982 280 was a ZX, not a Z. The 280Z was offered from 1975-1978 (79?), and the 280ZX ran from 1979-1983.Either case, they are both excellent cars =) Good luck with your search, and keep your eyes open on the classified forums, as 280ZXs pop up quite often! You can even go for the 280ZX Turbo! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36105-hey-guys/#findComment-321828 Share on other sites

June 7, 201014 yr comment_321833 Ya go for the 280, 260 or 240 z's way cooler cars....in his opinion. Mine, too, but others prefer the 280ZX. To each their own. Life's too short to not buy the car you like best. June 8, 201014 yr comment_321851 Welcome to the forum and for sure welcome Home. Thank you very much for your service to our country...glad you made it back safe and sound. If it is the 280ZX you like those are fun cars and a lot can be done with them. You should have a fair amount of good ones to choose from in Florida. June 8, 201014 yr comment_321861 IMHO the 2 seater 280ZX is a better looking beast than the 2+2 version, but you'll get plenty of opinons. As always, aim for the most complete, minimal rust one you can find for your budget.Good luck with your search.
