June 8, 201014 yr comment_321916 In my experience, once they go, they keep going. Are you saying this is the original seat cover, or just the original seat? I could see why you'd want to preserve the original cover, but beyond that, I'd just replace the cover. June 8, 201014 yr comment_321932 Get a product called Household Goop.Insert a piece of paper or vinyl into the tear to prevent the Goop from gluing the seat vinyl to the foam and put some of the Goop into the tear and on top of the inserted scrap vinyl.Carefully align the edges of the tear and press down on the inserted Goop and paper or vinyl insert. If any Goop squeezes through the tear, either remove it or using a bit of spit on your finger smooth it down.Goop is essentially silicone on steroids. It is strong enough to repair convertible roof vinyl and supple enough to remain flexible. It can be worked just like silicone.2¢E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36116-seat-tear/#findComment-321932 Share on other sites
