Rear bumper swap

Recommended Posts

I have a bumper from a 72 240z which im going to swap my stock 75 280z bumper out for. Ive done a lot of research and have the knowledge of the procedures you have to go through (fuel tank lowering, etc.) to complete such a task. But my question is, once that 240 bumper is on, and completely mounted up, and everything is put back into place, is it the same procedure to remove it later as well? Im trying to figure out if i need to get the chroming, etc. done before i attempt to mount it up, or can i do that later without going through all that crap again. Thank you.

You only need to lower the fuel tank once to pull the passenger side bumper shock.

The other area that is a hassle is pulling the rear passenger interior panels to get access to the area you will need to bolt up the passerger side of the bumper (fuel filler area). That you may have to repeat to tighten the bolt when you remount the bumper.
