Posted June 14, 201014 yr comment_322548 The shifter was disconnected from the shift rod on the automatic tranny. I'm not even sure this is the correct part/parts since it doesn't fit or at least I can't squeeze it in there. The PO may have been scrounging parts and this may not be original. It was in a box I received with the car. Can anyone confirm that these are correct or post a picture of what I should be looking for? I'll continue to search in the mean time. July 12, 201014 yr Author comment_325017 The part pictured is not for a Datsun 240Z. I hit 7 junk yards in San Antonio yesterday and Z cars are few and far between. I found a 77 2+2 Auto at the last junk yard and found the shift rod. $75 dollars later it was mine. Pretty expensive. Not too many Z's around here anymore. I'm going to start buying junk Z's to pull.save, and sell parts. I can't stand to see these things crushed when they are still wearing usefull parts.
