Posted June 15, 201014 yr comment_322655 Okay, I just bought a 1980 280zx. It looked good after test drive and a mechanic looked it over. Here's the problem: when I put it in Park (its an automatic) and I try to turn it on, it won't start! So, I dropped it into neutral and it started and ran great but now when I do this it'll start and then slowly die out!! Now it takes several attempts and luck to get her going. Any thoughts? I'm thinking either faulty wires or somethings loose? I'm looking for a mechanic right now because I really want to get her on the road for summer. Any input would be great. June 16, 201014 yr comment_322669 Your no-start-in-park issue sounds like a bad, ill-located neutral safety switch. As for the other, ???? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36198-wiring-problem-or-more/#findComment-322669 Share on other sites
June 16, 201014 yr Author comment_322685 That's all I really have to say about that, I'll look into that. I have a completel manuel on the car and I'll be taking some time to look it completely over today.
