June 17, 201014 yr comment_322799 Prefer to stay with the E31 but have not found oneCoated headers would be a nice upgrade. If you do go with the manifold, strip out the air injection tubes at the very least. June 17, 201014 yr comment_322801 Headers for a street car will accomplish nothing other than creating a "sucking sound" in your wallet. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36215-exhaust-manifold-question/#findComment-322801 Share on other sites
June 17, 201014 yr Author comment_322807 I do want to keep the stock manifold. Any of your guys that have switched over to headers have an E31 manifold? June 17, 201014 yr comment_322821 You will need a square port manifold and not D shaped, ask the seller what he have. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36215-exhaust-manifold-question/#findComment-322821 Share on other sites
June 18, 201014 yr comment_322889 Last October I replaced an E30 with an N33 exhaust manifold. Actually I replaced engines and left their respective manifolds attached. The catch was that the manifold outlet of the N33 is about 1" farther rearward and 1-1/2" to 2" lower that the original E30. I had to have the downtube shortened as there was about 2" of ground clearance to the exhaust.
