Hello everyone,

I wanted to let you know that we've created a new "sister" site to host our classified ads HERE. The new site is shared and hosted on our server, and your user account at CZCC will continue to work on the ads. So, there's no need to create a new account and all of your old ads are still there!

I decided to do this because there was so much popularity with our classifieds, I wanted to open it up to other Datsuns.

Why? Well, I noticed there was a HUGE need for all Datsun cars, parts, and other items. After talking to a few fellow members at various shows and online, it seemed like the right thing to do. I want to continue to create free and well-designed services for the Datsun community.

Ads will always remain free to individuals who want to get rid of parts, cars, and or sell their projects. Let me know what you think about this new idea and if you think there was a need in the community. I know it's something that took me about 3-4 days of programming, but, I think we are finally there!

Mike

Lookin good Mike :) I had my Z posted on there earlier this year but didn't really get any hits on it. I haven't been trying really hard though either. It just tears my heart out to part with it but lately It's been tougher and tougher these days for me to get it out and do anything with it. She's been doing a lot of sitting lately which makes me feel bad too. :(

Anyway I think it's a good change. Should improve the classifieds greatly.

Johnnyo, the domain is separate from the classiczcars.com website, so, it will show it's own traffic statistics. But, interestingly enough, any new user will need to sign up using the CZCC system. So, in essence, anyone who wants to post an ad will have to come here. Guests and people who want to 'browse' the ads won't be required to have an account.

I do plan to link directly to the classifieds like we do here (from the top menu). I just haven't started that part of my work yet. Lots of little things to do... :)

Datsunzsrule, sorry you didn't get a lot of hits on your ad. Do you still have the car? Give it another shot when this new classifieds area takes off. The URL name (datsunclassifieds.com) is much better than our old one (classiczcars.com/classifieds), so, I'm thinking you'll get better hits from search engines and such.

I optimized the site to allow for web crawlers so your ads should appear on Google and other search engines, too.

Thanks Mike. Yes, I still have my Z. I'll probably try it again later and see what happens. like I said before, I'm having a tough time thinking of letting it go so therefore I haven't been really trying hard either. Not an easy decision but yet I hate to see all my hard work on it go to wast and see it sitting. Seems like lately I barely get any free time anymore to enjoy it like I used to:disappoin Always something going on in the family or crap going on at work.

Anyway enough of me ;) Thanks again Mike

I somehow got subscribed to email updates of every ad placed and can't unsubscribe. When I tried to do it via the email link I got this:

Script call malformed. Some actions require you to be logged in. Please verify you are logged in and try the link again. If you continue to have problems please notify your Administrator.

When I tried to do it via the onsite link I get a message that I have no subscriptions. I'm getting 7-8 email notifications per day. Help LOL

Hmm, let me take a look and see if there's something I missed in the configuration of the classifieds module. Did you remember to add the domain to your "white list, or trusted sites list" on your browser? This will enable cookies. Just checking.

Are you talking about all threads in general or just the Classifieds? I know that the emails for regular threads have 2 options. #1 "Unsubscribe to this thread" or #2 Unsubscribe to ALL threads" And that gives the option page of all subscribed threads and you click on the ones you want to remove from the list.

I haven't tried to remove my ad or unsubscribe from the classifeds yet. so it'll be good to know.

By the way, the new Classifieds are awesome, great idea Mike.

Dave
