Posted June 21, 201014 yr comment_323211 My 77' 280 has speakers in the lower parts on each door, and two behind the seats, where are the stock places for the speakers? I ask because i got a door panel off a 280 in a JY the same year as mine and it does not have speaker holes in the door. So i assume the PO moved them. I think that was it for stock. I believe the 240Z only had one speaker! June 23, 201014 yr comment_323422 This is correct, my 77' 280z has only two behind the seat's in the panel next to the strut tower. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36262-stock-speaker-locations/#findComment-323422 Share on other sites
June 23, 201014 yr Author comment_323424 Fun stuff, my strut towers have those holes but there is nothing back there! The PO moved them to the door, and behind the seats, the flat area where it raises up and goes to the cargo area and the hatch. August 16, 201014 yr comment_328056 You don't drive a 240 to listen to music. At least not mine. This is all you get:laugh: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36262-stock-speaker-locations/#findComment-328056 Share on other sites
August 16, 201014 yr comment_328058 Casey, It should have a metal mount plate that fastens into the Left rear quarter panel at the back where the round grille holes are. Mono radio's are for traffic lights! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36262-stock-speaker-locations/#findComment-328058 Share on other sites
August 16, 201014 yr comment_328062 You believe correctly.Yes, but remember that an optional stereo radio and 8-track stereo was available on other models. We only got the AM auto-tune radio. The HLS30U(N,V) speaker part # is 29240-E4125. E4225 is the speaker for the right side. August 16, 201014 yr comment_328075 I need to get one of the extra speakers on the right side so I can have double mono sound! Casey Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36262-stock-speaker-locations/#findComment-328075 Share on other sites
August 16, 201014 yr comment_328085 My old '75 Z also had the mono speaker in the left quarter panel. No room in the right, because of the enormous fuel/air separator.
