Posted July 8, 201014 yr comment_324732 Does anyone know if the timing chain tensioner in the L24 has a gasket, because i purchased a replacement tensioner in timing a kit i bought from BDA and it did not come with one, and my how to rebuild book says there is a gasket, but the engine being rebuilt in that book is an L20b. Also, i have looked at alot of different Z car parts sites and none of them have the gasket either. July 9, 201014 yr comment_324790 The car came from the factory with a gasket, but no one sells one and the replacement part doesn't come with one. I asked around because I had the same concerns and everyone said, it would be fine without one. July 9, 201014 yr comment_324800 I always have gasket material in my tool box. I use a tiny ball peen hammer to peck around the outside of the tensioner with the gasket material and a hole punch to make the bolt holes.
