Posted July 8, 201014 yr comment_324754 I just saw this on Ebay. It looked pretty good(not many interior photos) until I saw the photo on flicker. Two large Circle like things in the Dash. Is this some sort of sound system that the guy is talking about. Absolutely ruined the looks of the car in my opinion. why would you do this?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170510946474&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1123 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36415-car-for-sale/ Share on other sites
July 8, 201014 yr comment_324758 Are you talking about this picture? If so, you're looking toward back of the car at the taillight cover panel, not the dash. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36415-car-for-sale/#findComment-324758 Share on other sites
July 9, 201014 yr comment_324802 For the $$$ the seller is asking, they need to put a lot more photos of everything on that ad... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36415-car-for-sale/#findComment-324802 Share on other sites
July 9, 201014 yr comment_324812 Question, just because it has the vents on the rear hatch, it does not mean it was a series one. Where are the 240Z badges behind the C pillar and on the deck lid. Why would you take those off during the respray and not put them back? also, is that an overflow tank underneath the coil? I have never seen one of those on a Z. I would think that would get in the way of the stock air box, which is always missing.comments? Also the comment that it has a dash cap on to protect the perfect dash underneath is a bit hokey to me. July 9, 201014 yr comment_324831 No Way this is a $14K car..I am thinking $6-8K at best. Negatives: - Not the original car color - back tail light panel wrong color - modified air intake - I don't see the 2400 on the valve color , don't think it's number matching - aftermarket radio - I am sure there is much moreI think it would have to be much more original to fetch that kind of cash. July 9, 201014 yr comment_324836 I am thinking $6-8K at best. I think you're being kind. From the limited view of the seats, they are aftermarket, I would suspect that there is a 2 or perhaps a 3 in front of the mileage, and there are just too many things not "right". Why-o-why do people try to advertise the mileage as sub-99,999.9 when they know it's higher. It really ticks me off. July 9, 201014 yr comment_324847 Actually the car looks pretty good! It looks as though it's been taken care of, and most importantly it has had items changed/added/removed that many would and have done to their cars. There ARE some items that have been modified/changed from the "original as delivered from the dealer", but there are EXTREMELY FEW cars that are STILL in "original as delivered from the dealer" condition and many of that subset are modified from "original as delivered TO the dealer FROM the factory".Bluntly stated, I don't see too many 1970-73 Z cars running around with Bias-Ply tires and original hubcaps on the original steel wheels. And "posed" pictures don't count, not if you normally DRIVE your car with mag wheels etc.We continuously tell new potential owners to find "the best example" of a Z they can afford, yet we continuously point them to "projects"... that will ultimately be MUCH more expensive than examples such as the one that started this thread.Given a choice between the e-bay ad car and that craig's list project... I'd be DRIVING my way down the road IN the Red car, rather than towing someone's failed project. There's more than $12k worth of upgrade to that project before it comes even close to the e-bay carFWIWE Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36415-car-for-sale/#findComment-324847 Share on other sites
