August 28, 201014 yr comment_329294 Thanks Guy, I was tired of looking at my 280Z. BTW, why don't you have a garage? You of all people need one to show off your awesome collection of Z cars. September 1, 201014 yr comment_329749 I don't know what part of AZ you live in, but if it's not the dry part, you might wanna reconsider your plan of using primer to stop the rust. Primer is very porous and, outside of a desert climate, will absorb moisture from the air and rust underneath. If you like the flat look, you can always use a flattened clear over the primer to seal it. I like primer cars, in a way, they can look 'all business', if you know what I mean... September 12, 201014 yr comment_330686 Here's a page I made for stuff like that.. Hope it helps. http://warbuddies.homestead.com/restohelp.html it's mftd date is 71/10 or 10/71 I was born 9/71the plan is to have a primer grey Z for a few years... stop deterioration/rust, get'er ready to hunt rx-7s and old supras (haven't seen either in Flagstaff....) I have "Osfo" as my dad called it....I was going to get on the exterior immediately.... I'm not certain how to treat rust like I'm looking at....but was guessing to removed the dead "flesh"....sand to metal, and or treat with Ospho, prime, glass, prime... ? unsure of fender flares but that would prolly hide alot of the rust work... what say u? sanding disks, primer spray paint....and some polyester resign, micro ballons? (or Bondo?) and cloth for the tail...all though I prefer the slick, no spoiler look...minus bumpers as well.... any advice? thanks fellas.... September 13, 201014 yr comment_330737 OK I notice the floor pans look OK, but the rest of the car I think your going to find some large holes. If the car do to rust gets to be a big project I don't think any of us would think badly of parting this one out. Just let us know so we can be your customers.
