Posted July 17, 201014 yr comment_325725 Hi New member with new to me 1978 280Z. It rained last night and my fusable links (covers missing) got standing water in their bases. Car started fine but wouldn't restart later, jumped off and the car was showing below 12v on the dash gauge. The car died on the trip home and wouldn't do anything till I charged the battery. What could my problem be? ThanksRandy Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36523-battery-dead-alt-not-charging-fusable-links-have-water-in-them/ Share on other sites
July 17, 201014 yr comment_325731 In the forward fusible link box, the black (80amp) link on the fender side is the one that would affect charging. I'd check all four links making sure they are dry and making continuous contact but especially that one.
