I watched some of Mecum car auction last weekend & a 74 260z went for 12k. Pretty good huh? Even though the TV spokesperson didnt give much respect because is was an automatic (otherwise they all said they really like the early z cars).

When a friend of mine passed away - it took about two weeks to sell his 260Z. It was exceptionally nice...and a bargain at $12K. His wife simply wanted it to go to a good owner.. and I believe it did.

That same car was auctioned three times by Mecum last year and supposedly sold for about $15k two times and didn't meet the reserve the other time. There were a couple of threads about the car. Here is one http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35241.

Here are the photos and description from the Mecum site from the latest "sale" http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?LOT_ID=IA0710-96136.
