July 25, 201014 yr comment_326418 The AZC header is the MSA 6-1 header. Really? I didn't know that. I asked here once before if it was and I was told NO. At least now I know that I can buy the MSA exhaust and it will bolt up to my AZC header. July 25, 201014 yr comment_326431 For your info, here in Europe, we've done a group buy: we gave a Nismo header to an exhaust shop in UK. He has worked for many weeks prior to propose to the group a Nismo replica version. Full exhaust runs 1200€ (1500$), if you're interested you should give a look at zclub.net. shipping though might kill the deal... I've got a MSA 6-2-1 that is good enough for me, Ive got no complain at all so I'll keep it. so I'm not part of the deal Edited July 25, 201014 yr by Lazeum Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36599-who-makes-the-best-header/?&page=2#findComment-326431 Share on other sites
July 26, 201014 yr comment_326449 MSA sells a 6 to 1 header that is thermal coated for $319. I know it gets mixed reviews but the price is right.carl Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36599-who-makes-the-best-header/?&page=2#findComment-326449 Share on other sites
July 26, 201014 yr comment_326469 Really? I didn't know that. I asked here once before if it was and I was told NO. At least now I know that I can buy the MSA exhaust and it will bolt up to my AZC header. I haven't examined the two up close, but just look at them. They look EXACTLY the same. I bought mine from AZC FWIW. I found this pic here for the MSA, tried to find a pic for the AZC, didn't see it on Dave's site. Maybe he doesn't sell them anymore? Anyway, my AZC header looks EXACTLY like this (I even welded in an O2 bung) but mine is rusty. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=135 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36599-who-makes-the-best-header/?&page=2#findComment-326469 Share on other sites

August 7, 201014 yr comment_327455 I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned Clifford Research, since Clifford are inline 6-cylinder specialists. We've had a Cliffordheader and full length dual exhaust system on our '70 since about1973 and we think it is terrific. Durable, nice looking, performanceincrease, nice tone, etc.One of the reasons we bought the '79 ZX recently, other than theprice, was because it has Clifford products on it including a 4-barrelconversion on a Clifford intake. Having been pleased with Cliffordproducts in the past, the Clifford element closed the current deal.FWIW,..........All Z Best,.................Kathy & Rick Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36599-who-makes-the-best-header/?&page=2#findComment-327455 Share on other sites
August 7, 201014 yr comment_327471 I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned Clifford Research, since Clifford are inline 6-cylinder specialists.Hi Rick,It was good talking to you and getting a chance to see your car in person at the Zcon this year. I believe the Clifford header is the same as the Datsun Comp header mentioned by Conedodger in post #2 above. Here is an old thread that discusses them http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32243. I have one myself and I'll probably use it on one of my cars eventually. I don't think they are available new anymore, but they come up on ebay periodically. That's were I found mine.-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36599-who-makes-the-best-header/?&page=2#findComment-327471 Share on other sites
August 7, 201014 yr comment_327486 For performance number (from the testing or test results I've seen) the Stahl gives the biggest performance gain (area under the curve). I have not seen test result for some of the more exotic 6 into 1 headers made in Japan and I haven't seen any test results from Dave jarman's header.
