I had one of those twenty years ago paid $800.00 then to a car dealer on Parramatta road. It had aircon five speed with twelve months reg and a defective left hand rear swing arm(bushes dead), replaced the swing arm, car drove like a dream impressed the new owner so much that he paid me $1500.00 just be for the rego ran out (Evil Steve).

Seriously it sounds like finding a good companion vehical of the right brand is very hard in Finland. As "Rod" said we have 240k everywhere here, is that a good thing(sometimes).

Good Luck with your hunting

Yes it is and it can be hard to find interesting cars sometimes. Allthough we do have some of the raresta ones for example mercedes-benz waxenberger 300 sel 6.3 liter. There are only on car out of three that has survived racing....

http://www.m-100.org/6point3/magazines/classicandsportscar_jan1999/waxenberger.html

I dont know the number of kgt's imported. There must be few of them because those are occasionally for sale. But I think that there are even more z's for sale...

Is it correct that this car was 1.6, 1.8 or 2.0 liter skyline in japan nad that 2.4 liter version was skyline gt-r? Thats what I have been reading on the internet.

Yeesh. Must be a European/Aussie thing. That car is pretty bufugly in my humble opinion. Looks like a old Barracuda and a Mercury Cougar mated in some sort of unholy alliance. :finger:

Maybe I'm not one to talk, my first car was a 1976 B-210 hatchback with that lovely turqouise green paint. Loved the little A-14 motor with a 4spd tranny. Can you say giddy-up and go!

LOL

As an American there are sometimes I see cars that were available elsewhere on the planet and I get jealous (Skylines, 4 door pickups, etc.). This is not one of those times.

On the other side of the coin I bet there isn't much demand for 1976 Ford Mustang II's in Europe or Australia. We can't give the damn things away.

To each his own I guess.

Yeha baby!!

I was about to buy this car as my daiky driver!! I need a bigger winter car. My Z is sleeping every winter.

It could have also donate some parts..I am pretty sure that all of those in Finland have 5 speed transmission.

In a twisted way I do like the funny muscle lookalikeness that it has got!:)

dont consider the 240k as a gearbox downer for your z as the two gearboxes are not interchangeable, but you need a good eye to pick it. it is difrent in the mid section and rear extension housing. that is what i have been told, and that goes for skylines up to 1986 (same car diffrent badges).

hope this information helps

Try looking in the Junk yard. These cars aren't worth anything these days. Last on I saw was for sale for $300. I thought about buying it for about a second.

Mazda 808's are just as worthless, but the coupes look a whole lot better and are easy to transform into mazda RX-3's.

They seem to be worthless time to time here too. Some good examples can cost over 2000€ which is aprox the same in usd.

About Mazda then. I have this 1200 -69 deluxe. 4-door saloon. I have a dream to build it as the r100 familia. Which was the same as r100 coupe but just like mine 4-door saloon. These cars had rotary engines a bit different grille, round tail lamps and some differencies in dash /interior. My project has some major difficulties. First: We dont have any such ratary cars here. Some never models of course but not this 69-77. Familia/Presto.

second: There are only few examples in europe.

Maybe I could get all parts from australia? I will be needing grille, badging, centreconsole and dashboard, tailgate with lamps and offcourse engine, tranny and such.

Hmmm, talking about mazda's on a 240z site. I feel very naughty, but anyway, they are cool cars also. I used to have a 808 coupe with a 1600 piston engine.

R100's had the a 10A rotary engine, which I doubt you could find anywhere except in a stock R100, thats been lost in a shed or garage of some elderly person and forgotten about.

Most R100's have the 12A or 13B put in for more reliability and power (13B turbo series 4 = lots of power to weight ratio).

To fit a rotary to your car, you wuld have to change the cross member for a R100 cross member, then a rotatry would bolt in.

As for tail lights, grills etc, they would be pretty rare also, even in Australia, because ist such an early model car. Bits for RX-3, and 4's are a lot more common, and even aftermarket reproductions are available for RX3 nose cones.
