Is this the water temp switch? pics

Whats up guys a few weeks ago my temp gauge wasn't working. At first I thought I just had a bad connection so I cleaned all the plugs but still no luck. So them after I went ahead and check the water temp sensor and found this

the loose cable seem to becoming from what I believe is the water temp switch but im not sure. If you look closely you will see 2 small green spots were looks like cables were coming out of.

I was over on zcar.com and I came across this thread but on the pics I didn't see that screw that I have the arrow pointing at.car is a 76 280z
