When trying to get my 1972 240z to run i had found that the gas tank and gas lines were rusted, though lines are easly replaced the gas tank is not.:ermm:

Any one know of an easy way to get the rust out?

if you search you will find several posts on this forum that talk about this.

you can have the gas tank flushed out and lined, you can find a used gas tank and flush it out and re-use it. you can buy a new one. lots of things you can do.

Grab a good double-handful of marbles. Count 'em. Put 'em in the tank with a good cleaning solution. Shake vigorously for three or four days. Pour out the solution and marbles. Count 'em. Use POR to seal the inside and let cure for the recommended time. You should be fine.

I will second the por-15 repair. Buy the kit and it will have everything you need. I used a piece of chain because i don't believe marbles would be abrassive enough to loosen the rust particles. It is a pain in the a$$ job but it is well worth it. The por-15 coating works well-but follow the instructions to the letter. Good luck!
