Posted August 15, 201014 yr comment_328010 I just purchased a 77 fairlady z (S31) 2+2 probably from another member on this board. This is my first z car. This vehicle has a lot of rust. Floor pans are gone, rear tire well, back lower panel is shot with cancer. Would it be better to transfer everything to a rust free chassis or try my skills on fixing all the problems with this car? August 15, 201014 yr comment_328011 Find another shell if you can. It might take awhile. So, in the mean time get that sucker running good and if you want to try your hand at welding, you got yourself a "learner" + a parts car for that rust free car. Just dont put too much money into the thing as far as the body is concerned. Just my humble opinion. August 15, 201014 yr comment_328029 I think you mean Tabco but I'm not sure what if anything they'd have for an S31 2+2. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36778-1977-rhd-fairlady-z-s31-22/#findComment-328029 Share on other sites

August 29, 201014 yr comment_329316 Yep, and we had a deal for that to become mine. Guess he changed his mind. ;(Best of luck with it...you've got some work ahead of you.I don't have a shell for the same model to help you with though I do have two 280ZXs available, one is a 2 seater with no engine/tranny and the other is a complete (or nearly complete) 2+2. If you or anyone else are interested in them give me a hollar! Maybe we could work out a deal if you want something more workable with less effort. August 29, 201014 yr comment_329334 Is that a dash out of a ZX?I'm confused.I'd part it for everything RHD on another shell if it were mine. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36778-1977-rhd-fairlady-z-s31-22/#findComment-329334 Share on other sites
August 29, 201014 yr comment_329346 Don't waste your time and money on that heap.Get a two seater 240 or 260 in better condition. Result is much moresatisfying and should be worth more. Just my opinion. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36778-1977-rhd-fairlady-z-s31-22/#findComment-329346 Share on other sites
