hello I have a 76 280z with auto transmission and recently I been having problems going reverse as well as going forwarded. OK recently i just did a full tune up on the car everything was working fine till this morning. I started my car and the idle is good, when i was backing up i notice that when i step on the gas it would just rev and i wont go any where. So I put it on drive and the same thing happen. I have been feeling the lack of power when i drive it and first thing that came to my mind was maybe my cat went bad? what do you guys think?

Check your auto-transmission fluid level. Sounds like either you're very low on fluid or your tranny's taken a big crap.

my fluid is good color is reddish but it does have a slight smell of burn't

Sounds like you have either lost the torque converter, or some clutches? Either way you will probably need to have it rebuilt.
