40th Anniversary Z

I was reading in today's local paper a review on the 370Z, in coupe, roadster and Nismo versions. In addition, they were talking about Nissan introducing a 40th anniversary edition "complete with compulsory badging (embroidered seat backs and floor mats) and equipped with a sports package, 19 in wheels, splashy red leather inside and Nissan even throws in a satin car cover". I searched prior posts and have not seen any comments or pics of the proposed 40th edition. Anybody see what this is going to look like?

There was a Nismo 370 parked in the banquet room during ZCON 2010 in Nashville. I was asked to park my 240 in there as well since my Nissan gunmetal gray paint is a very close match (we added about 10% more flake).

I too am not a fan of the 350 but the 370 is growing on me and after you drive a well sorted out (modified) 350 you really won't care what it looks like.

Im no big fan of the 350's or 370's. I really wish they would have done something with the front ends to keep the traditional Z car look.

I don't. Nothing is lamer than all these retro-styled new cars, and I'd rather they just leave the 240Z alone. My two cents.

I know we're all biased here, but that new Z does nothing for me either.

I think it would be cool if they made a retro Z with modern day performance. The new Cameros and Challengers may not be exactly vintage, but they're better to look at than all the other cars out there whose body morph's all converge on the same shape.

No, they are just building them on the wrong platforms. Luckily they made the Challenger look just about as good as the classic.

They have said they wanted to get that kinda feel out of this new Z line anyway and if so its a royal fail in my opinion.

Yes, the Challenger looks nice, but if you park one of the originals next to it the new car will completely hide the old one in profile. It is about 6 inches bigger in every dimension. It is also an overweight... well I should keep it classy:tapemouth Now the new Mustangs on the other hand...

Personally I like the 370Z a lot. I don't have the money to buy one, and probably wouldn't buy one anyway since I have a sports car to keep me occupied. (Who needs two of them?) Granted, it doesn't really look like a 240Z, but this is 2010, not 1970. I don't look much like I did 40 years ago either...
