August 25, 201014 yr comment_328983 I like ya style rick, Will clean up the SU's and begin the upgrade. Thanks for all the inputs :classic: I cant comment on worth but you could definitely get more on the east coast as mentioned. Nice find! I love that interior! Mines just like it but I have a after market steering wheel with matching saddle leather brown on it. I love this game...guess the value of the car...one of my favorite. August 25, 201014 yr comment_328985 '73 probably not the most desirable year: 70, 71, 72 would be better.RichI would respectfully disagree. With exception of flat tops, the 73' is a fantastic Z. I imagine that whichever model year that each of us have, we hold some bias. August 25, 201014 yr comment_328994 Cam, I'd be curious about your VIN as well. Mine is a 7/73 and I'm 169,721. I bought it here in So Cal.As far as valuation, the car will be worth $2,000-$4,000 LESS than you have into it by the time you're finished with it-unless inflation really kicks in. Very true statement I did not mean to dis the '73's, I own one. Just thought they were not as desired due to the increased weight, smog, and flat tops. Can't wait to get mine back from paint. Should be a beauty. Rich Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36879-almost-a-barn-find/?&page=2#findComment-328996 Share on other sites

August 25, 201014 yr comment_329002 I too have a 7/73, it is a Pennsylvania car which were I came from too. I think Rich is on point when it comes to the 70-73 run. I did not think that when I purchased a 73, all I cared about was that it was not a 260. Looks to me like you got yourself a $3000 ride there. Best of luck with it and enjoy the ride. August 25, 201014 yr Author comment_329003 I'm the same way, I will take 70-73, doesnt matter to me, and 74. But thats where the love stops! I dont care much for the build dates, vins, etc. Just love the Z. Can't wait to get mine back from paint. Should be a beauty. Rich Thanks for the clarification Rich, no dis taken. Grnsky shouldnt need to do much to make that a 8k car..He did a better job of scouting a a clean one then I did. I was 5 when 240's 1st came out & my uncle had one. Ever since that age I loved 70-73 mostly because of interior (shape of dash over gauges, diamond patterned vinyl & vented buckets). I think I may have to leave work early to sit in mine now. August 26, 201014 yr comment_329047 So, Mike, yours must be getting near the end of the run. Does anyone know what the HIGHEST VIN is for a 240?
