Why is it we have the Radiostorm.com mini frame on the front page. I for one don't find it useful and it drastically effects load time of the page.

We don't all have broadband connections, and I think removing this would greatly optimize the loading of the site.

While I'm on my soap box, why do we have the "driving weather" box on the front page as well? This is also contributing to a slower load time.

I think the site should try and stay Z related. You want to know the weather go to a weather site. You want to listen to the radio go to the radio site.

People as a whole have taken bandwidth for granted. I think we would all enjoy the site, and find the site a lot more useful if it was quicker to load.

I have never gone to a weather website that displays Z information?

Having said that, great job Mike.

Personally I love the weather section........ I'm stuck inside all day and its nice to know what its like out there... without having to go to a different site! I can't see how this would slow down the load time that much.

The radiostorm feature seems cool, although I haven't used it yet. This might slow down the load time, but it also MIGHT be a way for revenue. Mike do you get any payout for this link? If there is a payout on it, hell, everyone should open it up once a day.

Nope, the Radiostorm link doesn't have a payout. So, it's really just there for fun. I wanted to help send traffic to those guys because they were having troubles when the government decided to put huge restrictions on broadband radio.

Anyway, the Radiostorm link is not there anymore. I see that it is affecting the load time on the main page and decided to remove it because of that.

The weather block will stay.

Mike you are a legend. That has halfed the load time of the main screen. All modems users will love you all the more now.

Thanks for listening, and I'm fine with the weather section staying.

It's good to see the needs of site users considered.

Much Bettah!

I'm a dial-up modem user and I notice a big improvement. Thanks Mike for listening. Too bad Nissan, according to some Z enthusiasts, didn't listen as intently to Z owner input/pleading concerning the design of the 350Z (weight, style, price).

I could also remove the block for the weather on the front page. The weather will always be available as an item in the Main Menu and the top selector bar.

Let me disable it and let me know if the front page is faster (modem users would be better at this).

Removing the weather block didn't make as much of a difference as the Radio block, or at least not on mine.

But then again, I am one of the 2 or 3 that are using the tab menu theme so I can't speak for the rest.......

Taking the radio storm block of dropped the load time over ten seconds in the tab menu theme by itself....
