Peculiar aim of headlamps

Is it possible to mount a headlamp at angle? When I put in the high beams, the bright spot goes up and to the left, say about 11 o'clock, which would definitely blind oncoming traffic. According to aiming documents I've read, the bright spot should just go straight up, as it does in my daily car.

I think all I would need to do is turn the lamps a little to correct the aim, but is it possible?

I just put new lamps in and if I remember correctly they had a little bump in the glass that sat in a notch in the back plate.

Yep, on some sealed beams you'll find the word "TOP" imprinted in the glass.

There is a left-right aiming screw that can help with that. I think that the low beams have a really wide pattern that sort of hides the left to right adjustment.

The spot on my lamps are pretty much round, so aiming the light more to the right will only light up the berm, where you don't want to be driving. After i get a lamp out, we will see what can be one, if anything.

Tomo, FAIW, there should be two filaments in the headlight, running parallel to each other. They should be oriented horizontally. One will be higher than the other. The low beam filament should be located higher than the high beam filament (which results in their respective beam directions).

I agree, but it shouldn't make the bright spot go sideways when you go to the high beam.
