How much did he want for it?

There was a 240z in the quokka this week for $500.

the guy ended up selling it for $1000. I guess some people started a bidding war. I asked what sort of condition it was and hes said it was F*%@ed.

I might have a 240z headed my way after christmas, but no deals have been done yet, so mum's the word.

I saw a nice 240z a couple of days ago in joondalup. A red one, owned by a P-Plate driver. Had nice mags, and front spoiler. Looked like it had just been painted.

As a p-plater, I have a Z (Needing a resto), and wouldn't mind betting that i appreciate it more than these people who go out and buy a restored one for a ridiculious price. I love my Z, even in its decrepit state, and spent 18 months searching for it. And when its done, I'll appreciate it more than all the old farts out there, who struggle to get into and out of their Z cars, and potter around at idle in top gear. P-platers are persecuted, merely because of the actions of a few drivers, to stere-type them is wrong, as you could easily be stereotyped as one of the old farts listed above :).

AMEN to that brother.

I'm also a P plater too and I sure appreciate my Z. P-platers who don't appreciate Z's dont buy them...

Hey Halz.

I had my first 240z when I was on P plates. I spent a lot of time fixing it up.

I think the owner of the 240z would appreciate the car he owned. It looked like he'd spent a bit to get it into the condition it was in.

Hey Cuong

The $1000 is from the guy himself. that's what he told me he sold it for when i spoke to him thursday afternoon. He sounded like a chump.

Hi All,

Mr Camouflage, I spoke to the guy on Friday morning and he mentioned nothing at all about the $1000, what he told me is that the advertisment was wrong and it should have been a 2+2 260z, no rego. He said that no way a 240Z would be less than $1500 even if it was a bucket of sh#t (his words) and how would I expect that the ad be for a 240Z??? (well I only rang because thats what the ad said!!!)

Sounds like he is making up bits on the fly!

Oh well, sounds like a di#k to me... (to be honest, there are only a handful of zed owners that I have personally met that aren't weird or a bit ???

Hey Guys,

I don't want to discourage anyone looking for a 240Z in Perth, but basically I think it is a tough ask. How many 240Zs have even been advertised in the last year? 2 or 3 I'm guessing, and one of those is still for sale (the 6500 one which apparently is too rusty for the price). It is very much a sellers market unless you want a 260 2+2 - no shortage of them. I'm thinking that if you put an ad in the quokka for a 240Z under 5000 you will have to hire a full time secretary to handle all the calls (possibly why the 500 guy mentioned above was a bit vague and unfriendly - he was answering the phone all day).

If you are really keen for a 240Z in the near future then maybe you should consider freighting one from the eastern states. It is a big hassle to do it that way but at least they have a supply (and choice) over there. I was considering doing it for a while, from memory I think it was about 700 bucks to freight one back.
