Roll Bar

Body:

Professionally flared - like the picture below Ultimate (this picture is not my car)

Spoiler

Needs paint and minor body, all minor no dents etc....

Interior:

Dash is good no cracks

Single seat

No interior , note I have allot of the interior parts just not installed at this time.

Comments:

I've had this car sitting for several years, with an occasional energy burst on the weekend.

The car runs and drives, however it is recommended that the suspension be retuned before driving on the road.

He recommended that I bleed the brakes, and flush out the motor because it's been sitting for a while. He also told me that I needed to replace one of the "mustache bars." The car needs paint, but the body is pretty straight with very mininal rust.

He's asking $2300. Do you fellas think it's worth it. According to him, he says that the motor and suspension is worth $2000 alone.

Thanks for the help

Gino

Sorry, I forgot about that info. It's a 1971 240z. The motor in it now is supposed to have less than 2000 miles on it. I guess the only thing that is not totally convincing me is that it has no interior. It needs carpet, passenger seat and door panels.

Would these be easy, unexpensive items to find?

Thanks,

Gino

Those interior parts are easy- you can find plenty used from the rusty sitting Z's, or buy new. Do a quick ebay search on "datsun" & you'll find new carpet for about $175, or MSA or VB or even JC Whitney... New door panels can be pricey- try to find some from a parts car, or again, Ebay. Seats would be a matter of preference- you can buy a used one (or set), get racing seats, swap from a junkyard- plenty of options.

Do you have catalogs from Motorsport Auto and Victoria British, or have you looked at links from this site to parts suppliers?

Interesting. I would ask why it has no interior. You're looking at at least $1,000 (US) to get that replaced. Carpet, seats, door panels, vinyl, etc....

But, I'm curious as to WHY it has no interior.

I'd offer the guy $1,800. ;)

Sounds to me like he was actually going to build a race car out of it, no interior, and the springs being too stiff for the street?

Sounds like the beginning of a good project if you can find no rust on the chassis and have plenty of time and resources to finish the job. :ermm:
