Posted September 5, 201014 yr comment_330014 In the attached photo, what is the purpose of the blue female bullet connector that can be seen taped to the wire wrap leading to the fan switch connector? If this is an auxiliary wire, is it hot? Thanks, Gary S. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36995-wire-id-please/ Share on other sites
September 5, 201014 yr comment_330028 A/C power; it's 12v+, it's directly connected to the Fan Switch Power Lead. It's "hot" when the Ignition Switch is in "Run" and "ACC" mode.E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36995-wire-id-please/#findComment-330028 Share on other sites
September 5, 201014 yr comment_330045 I thought is was only hot when the key is in those positions and the Fan switch was in one of the 3 speeds but no power if in the off position (fan speed switch) Please correct me if I'm wrong. Then the blue connects to the Dealer installed AC switch and out to the A/C wire on the left side, under the coil area.Right or wrong. going by memory here.Dave Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36995-wire-id-please/#findComment-330045 Share on other sites
September 6, 201014 yr comment_330062 I just checked that wire with this new info because I was wondering what it was for. On my 240 that wire agrees with Zs-ondabrain and is hot in ACC and ignition but only when the fan is on. I am trying to label all the wires under the dash as I have left overs from a POs wiring though everything seems to be working. September 6, 201014 yr comment_330099 Not trying to correct ya E, just trying to be very specific. In my line of work, I gotta know what every single wire is and where it goes. I did correct you but not intentionally or in a bad way. You were mostly right.Dave Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/36995-wire-id-please/#findComment-330099 Share on other sites
