Master Brake hose for Series 1 Needed!

I believe some people obtain the same diameter and length hose, then put a copper rod through it to shape it into the correct style. I could be wrong, but I think I recall seeing it on jdm-car-parts.com's blog. Just make sure the rod is not long enough to plug anything up. Other than that, the bends should keep it stationary.

The rod will keep it correctly shaped, but will not keep it from collapsing under vacuum. I'll wait for the correct part, myself.

Hello Arne,

Following Kats lead, I made mastervac hoses for my car with the braided fuel line hoses that kats used. They turned out perfect and indistiguishable from original. (Thanks Kats)

Instead of using solid brass rods, though, I used 1/4" copper tubing from my local hardware store. After inserting the tubing, I was very careful not to crimp the tubing during shaping and they work very well. I, too, was concerning about the collapsing of hose around solid brass rod material, thus the use of copper tubing.

When available, I, too, will be getting the repro hoses, and my creations will find a new home on ebay.

I suppose project 3/72 will need a new hose and valve as well so throw my name in the hat. also if anyone can lend some light on master vac upgrades for Series 1 cars? I will check Hybrid Z as well.

Damn I was really hoping for a solution as mine are very tired and all the braiding is falling to dust off them. I checked over at Hybridz and they refer here :(

AZ-240z just gave you a solution (use a copper tube inside). That's what I would do if I wanted an original looking hose. At least until reproductions are available.
