Another early 240Z?

Another car claiming to be a 1969 production car is on ebay now http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220665695095&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT. It says it is #00525 (HLS30-00525 I assume). It looks like there are several 1969 production HLS30 cars with VINs in the low 500's on zhome.com, so I guess that is possible. It looks like it has many aftermarket and parts from later cars on it. I thought the weird shift handle looked like it belonged on an automatic, but the seller says it has a 5 speed. Too bad the seller doesn't say anything about being numbers matching or show any engine bay pics or potential rust areas.

Its a tough call. Another car trying to use the low vin number to increase its value. Like mentioned above, there are too many alterations to make it appealing to me. In my opinion, if you are going to play the low vin card, it better be original. Once you start altering the car, I don't think the vin number matters. The dash has a cap and is the wrong dash to boot. It has the cross indentation by the hazard switch which appears in later cars. There is an aftermarket switch above it. Not an original radio, missing knobs etc. Even though a 5 speed transmission might be better, obviously its not original. The exterior paint looks nice but the interior is only in ok condition. The seat belts are wrong as well. Anyway, I could go on and on. Its got too many issues to interest me.

Welllllll , he's not really riding the low vin horse to death ,

and sure it's got wrong parts on it, but who cares ?

It's probably the real deal #525 , and whoever gets it

can restore or modify it any way they want , right ?

My #538 is modified , and I still like the fact that it's

a low vin car as well !:)
