September 12, 201014 yr comment_330687 I agree with Jeff,Look for a car with good bones and no rust. The price of a plane ticket or the cost of having it shipped can make a difference in finding a good car that is worth the money. carl Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37072-looking-at-a-73-240z/?&page=2#findComment-330687 Share on other sites
September 12, 201014 yr comment_330692 Run away from this one as fast as you can. Serious dollars to fix all that.Once you got into it, it would be far worse than you can see. September 12, 201014 yr comment_330697 Mike I saw a yelllow car out in PA last year around this time. It was painted very poorly ,runs everywhere, dull. The owner described it gorgeous, wasted a 2 hour ride out there. The floors and other things looked as described. I remember the sheet metal rivets holding the d/s floors. I walked did not even continue with the inspection. The seller wanted around 5K. I remember telling him to paint it and do the rust repairs at a min. Keep looking you will find one. What year(s) are you set on buying? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37072-looking-at-a-73-240z/?&page=2#findComment-330697 Share on other sites
September 12, 201014 yr Author comment_330700 Thanks for all the input.I don't really have a set year to buy, or even that I have to buy a Z. I was going through the local craigslist ads, saw this one, and was like..."Ohhh yeah, I remember those...that's pretty badass...That'd be pretty cool to have as a 3-season fun car (winter in Pittsburgh would eat it up)." I watched a couple YouTube videos, and listened to the exhaust, and was like...."Mmmm hmmm."The one that really gives me a car boner is this:http://maydaygarage.com/2010/01/19/keeping-it-old-school-van-luongs-73-datsun-240z/ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37072-looking-at-a-73-240z/?&page=2#findComment-330700 Share on other sites
