2010 National Runoffs

And then there were two.

Just got off the phone with Steve and he said the third Z was totaled in yesterday's session. Apparently head on into a Miata that had looped just beyond the kink. Everybody is okay, but I have to ask myself (since we're on the subject of which cars weigh how much) which car would I want to be in when that 90 mile an hour impact took place?

Damn, that sucks! I know Don Bunt. He's a real nice guy. He put a lot of work into his car too.

The Kink is a really deceptive corner. Just looking at it, it appears to be a mild right hander. But if you get your turn-in wrong, there is very little run-off area, probably 15 feet at the most and you are into the wall. Just about every track weekend that I have been there, it claims at least one car.

Best of luck to Steve and Greg!

Got up early and watched the first race. Just got back from pool therapy and can't get speedcasttv to open the races.....

Pam said there are like 69 cars in the spec miata race. Even on a 4 mile track that would constitute grid lock. Gonna be interesting to watch that one.

On the radio they were calling for flooding rains in Wisconsin. It's a big state but some of the camera shots of distant skies during the first race showed clouds blacker'n the inside of your hat.....

Doh! It didn't click with me that it was Don. Damn shame. His car build was featured in SportsCar back in '99?? when the Z was first classed in EP.

And where are the photos??
