Posted September 24, 201014 yr comment_331674 I recently purchased a 76 280z. The electrical system works great but i cannot get the car to turn over to start. The car will crank but it will not fire. The car did sit with the previous owner for a considerab;e amount of time. So...i drained the gas and replaced it with higher octane gas. I want to exhange the fuel filter but having trouble finding where it is located. If anybody could help me out on this issue or has any other advice for me that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.-Shawn Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37193-new-guy-needs-help/ Share on other sites
September 24, 201014 yr comment_331700 Starter fluid in the air intake, if it starts and runs even for a few seconds, then you know you're not getting fuel to the engine.E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37193-new-guy-needs-help/#findComment-331700 Share on other sites
September 24, 201014 yr comment_331703 Here is a picture of the filter. It is big. But as EScanlon suggests, you should probably check a few things out before you start replacing parts. Jumping from "won't fire" to "change fuel filter" is not the best way to go. You can spend a lot of money and end up worse off than when you started.
